i made some great new friends yesterday

Meet Love, Lil' Angel, Baby and Music in their Snow Bunny attire:

My incredibly sweet friend Jenny sent me a message on Facebook the on Monday, asking when I was free to meet because she had to give me something. We agreed that I'd join her and her amazing friend Kate on Tuesday for a Club Monaco shopping session. When I met her last night, she handed me a big bag saying, "I read your blog ... " I took one look inside the bag and started jumping up and down for joy. It turns out that the über talented Jenny is part of the design team that creates what I feel are the most adorable perfume bottles in the world. I am so excited to see what else they're gonna come up with for the Harajuku Lovers line!

In other news, we went all out shopping in Club Monaco. They were already on sale but we got a wee bit more of a discount with Kate's magical powers. I got a sweater that I love but is currently shedding rabbit hair all over my black cords (you're right Jen, only wear them with jeans), a 3/4 sleeved gray shirt with a low scooped back which was on sale (I've been wearing the black and white striped version of it to death), and a pair of black, perforated leather driving gloves:

So happy with the gloves in particular because I've been searching for gloves that fit my teeny tiny hands for AGES. These fit perfectly, and I kinda feel like a glamorous 50s actress while wearing them.

After shopping, we went to Havana Central for some fresh tableside sangria, yummy corn on the cob, tamales, stuffed peppers and seemingly endless great conversation. Such a fun night! You're never gonna get rid of me now Jenny & Kate!

anna sui's dolly girl

I remember coming back to Manila after half a year of galivanting in Europe and finding a bottle of the most delicious smelling Anna Sui lotion in my bathroom. Different guests had used my bedroom and bathroom while I was away, and someone had left this behind. I loved the scent and always thought of seeking out the perfume but never got around to it. Well, I also became a Beauty Editor and subsequently got buried in perfume samples so the scent just slipped away from my senses.

Or so I thought. Last Monday, I was at the Duty Free in Heathrow, mulling over the difference of the scent between Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely and Narciso Rodriguez For Her when I saw the bottle of Anna Sui's Dolly Girl.

The smell I so loved came back to me, and just like that I forgot about Lovely and Narciso Rodriguez. I just adore the scent of Dolly Girl. It's very fresh but also sweet and sexy. The topnotes are crisp apple and melon, effervescent bergamot and dash of cinnamon. But the base is a very feminine magnolia and jasmine. It's lighthearted but flirtatious. Best of all, it cost me all of £18. What's not to love?

Harajuku Lovin'

How cute are the Harajuku Lovers fragrances?! I wanted to die when I saw these at Sephora. They are so freakin' cute! I have no idea what any of the scents even smell like, but they could be paperweights for all I care! They're only $25 to $45 apiece anyway. These would make great gifts for my tween sister and niece, who are getting more and more difficult to shop for. Besides it's time they found out Miley Cyrus isn't all that. Gwen Stefani, meanwhile, she's a goddess!

I want this: Narciso Rodriguez For Her

I was walking through Bloomie's in SoHo last Sunday when a spritzer lady managed to get me to reach out for the baby pink ribbon she was holding out. I don't even know how she got me to take it because I normally don't take those things, for no other reason than that I am really picky and never like the scents I'm given. But this scent, Narciso Rodriguez For Her, was different. It has a sweet, soft and velvety scent that I just loved. It's musk-based, and layered with vanilla, orange blossom, and honey flower. I haven't fallen this hard for a scent since Lolita Lempicka, which I have been using for 4 years now. I can't wait til I'm finished with my shopping exile (5 days to go!). This is going to be my first buy!
