I'm an evil, evil person for saying this, but I was all smiles after reading 24/7 Wall Street's writeup on 12 Major Brands That Will Disappear by the end of next year. I know, companies closing means more unemployed people and so on, which is bad, bad, bad ... I was sad to hear that they think Esquire will shutter, and even though I haven't bought anything at GAP since I was 16, I don't want to see the GAP/Old Navy/Banana Republic trifecta vanish too ... but I can't contain my joy over Crocs being on the list! I'm evil. But Crocs are worse than evil. That's all I'm gonna say about that ...

hmm.. i wonder if this has something to do with they had that sale a few months ago in manila .. crocs for like 70% off!
well according to the article, Crocs shares were traded at $72 in 2007 and now are traded below $2!!!! that might have something to do with it ... or all the mangled kids feet from escalator accidents. UGH.
GAP hasn't done a thing for me lately. Within the past year. I do like their jeans, but that's about it.
I'd like to see BR and Old Navy stick around, but the GAP brand needs a major overhaul IMO.
And Crocs need to go buh-bye. Can't stand 'em!
I will say though that I am horribly sad to see Saturn go. Horribly sad. I never thought of Saturn as being a GM brand- more on its own, with its own way of doing things (like my Sky roadster vroom) and I hope it can branch out on its own and float that way.
I doubt it, but I still hope. My very first car was also a Saturn (just a sedan) and for the most part, us Saturn people are very loyal to the brand. I know several people that own several Saturns.
I just think Saturn did it all wrong with the marketing. They are a different kind of car and a different kind of company, but they were trying to appeal to the wrong people IMO.

Chloe - I agree. I don't think I'd miss Gap much but what in bloody hell would I do without Old Navy's tank tops? Crap, I'd better stock up ... About Saturn, well you never know, what if they get uber motivated and turn everything around and then stay forever and ever?!? I wish!
YAYYYY!!! I'm so excited about Crocs! I absolutely despise them! My bf likes wearing it and I shudder everytime I see him wear it.
